Data Deletion Request

Last updated: August 2025

You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data held by Christ Everywhere (including the Koinonia platform). This page explains what you can delete, how to submit a request, and what to expect after you do.

How to Request Deletion

You can request that we delete your account and associated personal data in two ways:

  1. In-app: Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account and follow the prompts. This is the fastest method and lets us verify your identity automatically because you are signed in.
  2. By email: Send a request to privacy@christeverywhere.org from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.” Please include the name and email (or phone number) tied to your account so we can locate and verify it.

Connected WhatsApp, Facebook & Instagram Data

If you connected a WhatsApp, Facebook, or Instagram account to Christ Everywhere, your deletion request also covers the data we received or stored through those integrations, such as profile information, messages, and content processed to provide our services.

Deleting your Christ Everywhere account removes this connected data from our systems. Please note that deleting data from our platform does not delete content that still resides on Meta's own platforms (WhatsApp, Facebook, or Instagram). To remove data held directly by those services, use the privacy and account controls provided by Meta.

What Gets Deleted

A verified deletion request removes personal data associated with your account, including:

  • Your account profile, login credentials, and contact details (name, email, phone number)
  • Content you created, such as prayer requests, posts, notes, and community activity
  • Data received from connected WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram accounts
  • Usage and preference data linked to your identity

Timeline & Confirmation

Once we verify your request, we will delete your data within 30 days. Backup and archival copies are purged on our standard backup rotation shortly thereafter. We will send a confirmation to your email address once deletion is complete.

Exceptions

We may retain certain information where the law requires or permits it — for example, to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to enforce our agreements. Any retained data is limited to what is necessary for those purposes and is deleted once the obligation no longer applies. Anonymized or aggregated data that can no longer be associated with you may also be retained.

Questions

If you have questions about this process or the status of a request, contact us at privacy@christeverywhere.org. For more on how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy.
